Learning Support Centre
Welcome to Belmont Intermediate Learning Support Centre.
The Learning Support Centre is a purpose built facility which provides a bright, spacious and safe learning environment. It successfully caters for the varied needs of our students by providing quality support for students who have special educational needs.
We embrace the model of inclusion by providing opportunities for learning within the mainstream environment. High quality curriculum adaptations ensure each student's individual needs and learning styles are acknowledged and catered for.
Students’ educational and therapeutic goals are based on their IEP (Individual Education Plan). We use a collaborative team approach to facilitate and encourage students to reach their goals. We do this by employing dedicated and competent staff including a team of teacher aides with many years experience and our own Speech Language Therapist, Occupational Therapist and Physiotherapist
Our school has developed a school-wide acceptance and positive attitude towards students with special needs These positive interactions are seen from senior management to the classroom teachers and is most evident amongst the mainstream students themselves.
Students can access the Learning Support Centre through ORS funding (Ongoing Resourcing Scheme) or funding such as ACC.
