We are aware that pre-adolescence is a time of significant change and consequently there will be times when a student may require support to assist with their personal growth and development.

Serious issues are dealt with in accordance to school policy and process. There is a transparent process for resolving any forms of verbal or physical harassment.
Class health programmes focus on personal relationships, dealing with conflict and caring for yourself.
We have a counsellor who is available two days a week. Students can self refer or be referred by teachers or parents. This service is bound by a code of ethics and is completely confidential.

Dyslexic Friendly Strategies
We are a dyslexic friendly school and our teachers and teacher aides participate in workshops to develop a clear understanding of dyslexic friendly strategies. Students can also be selected to participate in the Lexia Learning Programme. Lexia Learning is an online programme specifically for students with dyslexic and dyspraxic tendencies. It can also support students who find reading challenging.
Students are supported by a teacher aide and participate in an individual programme three to four times a week for fifteen minutes. We liaise closely with a number of special needs agencies. In consultation with homeroom teachers and parents, students can be referred for additional specialist support. This could include:Resource Teachers of Learning and Behaviour (RTLB) Special Education Services (MoE)Attention Behaviour TeamWaitemata Health Assistive Technology (MoE).
